О себе: Hon Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah is the current Minister of Petroleum and a Member of Parliament for the Ellembele Constituency, in the Western Region of Ghana. He has an MSc. from University of Maryland, USA and BA (Hons) Social Science from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana. The Honourable Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah has held a number of distinguished positions throughout his career including Deputy Minister for Energy – Petroleum in Ghana and Postmaster for United States Postal Service in Maryland, USA.
Деятельность: Job Description: Minister of Energy & Petroleum Company: Ghana Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah is a native of Ellembele in the Western Region of Ghana. He is a Management professional. He has academic qualifications in Law and Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and the University of Maryland, Ghana and USA respectively. He has held several management positions locally and internationally, in the process deepening his expertise in Project Management, Finance, Marketing and Investment and International Relations. In the last few years, he has applied these management skills in his position as Member of Parliament for Ellembele, working with the District Assemblies in his constituency to deliver on their respective district planning and development obligations. He was Deputy Minister of Energy in a period when Ghana gained global attention for commercial oil and gas production from the Jubilee field. In this capacity, he supported the Minister in managing the various sector agencies and departments under the Ministry to deliver effectively. He has managed various local and national stakeholders with regard to Ghana’s Energy sector, all the while employing his management skills. His legal knowledge has also been applied in the development of various legislative instruments pertaining to the Energy sector. Kofi Buah has a deep appreciation of local community needs and national development expectations with regard to Energy and is constantly exploring and developing innovative initiatives for meeting them. As the substantive Minister for Energy and Petroleum under the current administration, he has supervised a constant and progressive growth in Ghana’s oil and gas sector. A total of 36, 775, 259 barrels of oil was produced from the Jubilee field in 2013, with an average of 100, 756.87 barrels per day under his watchful eyes. As at September 2014, the average daily production from the fields has increased to 105, 000 bpd, thereby justifying his determination to ensure a progressive increase in Ghana’s oil production. Hon. Armah-Kofi Buah, with such a determination and hard work is also poised to ensure that oil and gas production from both the Tweneboa-Enyenra-Ntomme (TEN) and the Sankofa fields begin in earnest, in addition to ten (10) new Petroleum Agreements that has been signed under his administration. To ensure an improvement in his country’s stake in the Oil and Gas resources, our award winning Minister’s leadership skills ensured the enactment of the Local Content Legislation, with an Exploration and Production (E and P) Bill also receiving Cabinet approval. The first ever gas processing plant in this country, the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant, has started processing gas to feed Ghana’s thermal plants and also to ensure value addition to Ghana’s gas resources. The timely completion of work on the Plant was as a result of great efforts put in place by Hon. Buah.
