О себе: "One more place, one more restaurant, one more eating spot... Probably nothing special..." That is what I always think when I hear about new restaurants being opened in Mahmutlar or Alanya. Having so many places and restaurants here in Mahmutlar, on every corner of our small town, so big variety of dishes and kitchens and even more in Alanya, people, and me as well, think that nothing extremely new and different can be offered in a new place. Variety of the restaurants which we have here is good and gives us an opportunity to choose where to spend our time, how and with whom. And in this search for the perfect place where it feels cozy and relaxing, where atmosphere is friendly and kitchen is delicious, people try different restaurants and places, until they find the one. Then place itself comes first and the feelings which it gives when you are there. It's all about the feeling. Speak frankly, I am not one of those big restaurant lovers who search for new food experiences and experiment with different kitchens, but when I heard about wine tasting and degustation in Şırahmene Restaurant , Wine House & Bar in Mahmutlar, I decided to take a look. And straight from the beginning my imagination played a big trick on me: no loud music, balloons and dancing waiters, as I expected, where there. Place looked quiet and ordinary, and I thought that it was wrong time or date. In a big confusion and questions in my mind I entered the restaurant. Şırahmene Restaurant , Wine House & Bar was opened in May 2011 in Mahmutlar and, as one of the co-owners Turgut Dingil says, that straight from the beginning was planned as a place of different restaurant experience and quality. "Our aim was to bring restaurant service, food quality and entertainment to an absolutely new level, European level in all its meaning. Our guests feel themselves undisturbed here while they enjoy a glass of wine or a good meal made by our great kitchen chef from Istanbul". Smooth live guitar music, cozy and at the same time elegant design, welcoming staff, great variety of foods and wines... This restaurant can offer all you need for a nice evening, meeting or just for a dinner. Great wine collection contains around 160 different types from all over the world. Here you will find wines from Australia, Italy, France, Chile, Spain, USA... and of course Turkey. ...The history of wine spans thousands of years and is closely intertwined with the history of agriculture, cuisine, civilization and humanity itself. Archaeological evidence suggests that the earliest known wine production occurred in Georgia around 8,000 BC, with other notable sites in Iran and Armenia dated 7,000 BC and 6000 BC, respectively. The archaeological evidence becomes clearer and points to domestication of grapevine in Early Bronze Agesites of the Near East, Sumer and Egypt from around the third millennium BC. The Caucasus region, where the countries of Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Turkey are located today, played a pivotal role in the early history of wine and is likely have been one of the earliest wine-producing regions of the world. Ampelographers estimate that Turkey is home to between 600-1200 indigenous varieties of Vitis vinifera (the European grapevine), though less than 60 of these are grown commercially. With over 1,500,000 acres (6,100 km2) planted under vine, Turkey is the world's fourth-leading producer of grapes. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Turkey's first president, established the country's first commercial winery in 1925...
